Derry Township Community Center Open House Welcomes Residents

Approximately 100 people attended the Derry Township Community Center Open House on Saturday, March 23 from 10 a.m. to noon. Participants were able to meet Parks & Recreation staff members and view the renderings for the new center, the interior finishes, and masonry samples.

Visitors also had a chance to hear more about the senior center’s role in the new community center and to learn more about the capital campaign for the project. To date, more than 2.7 million dollars have been pledged. 

Hershey Student Organizes Karns Foods Shopping Spree to Benefit New Community Center

In support of the new Hershey Community Center, Hershey Middle School 8th grader Cali Oyerly is organizing a raffle with Karns Foods to offer a three-minute shopping spree on Saturday, April 13 for the winner of a fundraising raffle. Participants must be 18 years of age or older to participate in the raffle. Tickets are $10 each or Buy 2 Get 1 Free for $20.

Buy tickets at Karns on the following dates: March 9, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. March 16, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Tickets will also be available at the Hershey Community Center Open House on March 23 from 10:00 to noon at the Hershey Recreation Center, 605 Cocoa Avenue.

The raffle winner will be drawn on April 6, 2019. Participants do not need to be present to win.

Oyerly also held a fundraiser in lieu of birthday gifts to benefit the new Community Center. Her generosity inspired a resident to match her gifts with his donation of $1,000.
